2010 Trick or Treat for Unicef campaign

The North Flatbush Avenue Avenue Business Improvement District was grateful to the many merchants for participating and to raise awareness for UNICEF’s initiative, Trick or Treat For UNICEF. The initiative celebrated 60 years of the kids helping kids campaign this Halloween. The BID   contributed signage to raise awareness about the campaign at the 5th Annual Halloween Spookytacular event on October 25th and during the weeks leading up to Halloween, we provided merchants with orange donation boxes.

The BID’s mission in the upcoming years ahead is to become the forefront of fund-raising and awareness-raising for UNICEF. With the help of all the merchants along Flatbush Avenue, we were able to raise $300.00 for Unicef.

A check was presented to Diane Allison on December 15th, 2010.  Diane and her husband, Monroe Allison, are of the founders of Trick or Treat for Unicef along with their mother, Mary Emma, who recently passed away on October 28th.   To read about how it all began, please clilck HERE.
