How long have you been a business owner?
How long have you owned a business on North Flatbush Avenue?
What makes you a “Small Business Wonder Woman”? Tell us a little about your business and what makes it unique
Our Pilates studio empowers women and men alike, helping them de-stress while they grow stronger with each class. My amazing team has kept up their spirits and have heavily engaged with members while we were closed (for a year!!) due to COVID. Our members have been super supportive for this last year and I think that alone speaks volumes about the community we’ve developed inside of our 4 walls.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I’ve always loved helping people and I love Pilates, so why not combine the two? Running my own business definitely comes with a lot of stressors but the highlights of each and every day dramatically outweigh any struggles and keep me lifted and wanting to do more!
Who are some female leaders who have inspired you in your journey as a female entrepreneur?
My mom was always starting new projects and trying new career paths. She made everything seem so easy and effortless (while raising 4 kids). I know my strong work ethic comes from both her and my dad, and their confidence in me has always carried me through every situation.
What is your other favorite woman-owned business In Brooklyn?
B cakes bakery. Miriam is amazing 🙂
What is your other favorite North Flatbush Avenue business?
Allstar Locksmith and Hardware (they’ve helped me in a pinch SO many times!)
What makes North Flatbush Avenue a good place to have a business?
The easy access to many subway lines is incredible. The thriving street full of business always draws new crowds to our studio who may not have found us otherwise.
