FLATFOOT FLATBUSH is Brooklyn’s first-ever flatfooting parade, celebrated as part of Make Music New York’s Winter Solstice Celebration.
On December 21st, 2021, Porch Stomp celebrates the Winter Solstice with some light and music on the darkest day of an extremely dark year. Flatfoot Flatbush, Porch Stomp’s annual winter event, will take place live on Flatbush Avenue (between Barclays Center and Prospect Park). See schedule below:
4pm: Warm-up at the Carlton Avenue Triangle (Carlton Ave at Flatbush)
415pm: Sidewalk parade with the Flatfoot Flatbush Band! With stops at local businesses for treats and giveaways! With special performance by “Wind in the Pines,” the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music bluegrass jam class
6pm: North Flatbush Avenue BID member holiday party/ Flatfoot Flatbush Afterparty at the 6th Avenue Triangle (6th Ave at Flatbush and St Marks). With special performances by the Jalopy Junior Folk Kids Class and the Gowanus Wildcats
630pm: Open Jam with the Hudson Family Jam — Bring an instrument and join along!
Now in its 8th year, Flatfoot Flatbush is hosted by Porch Stomp, in partnership with the North Flatbush Avenue Business Improvement District, City Stompers, and Make Music New York.
