Eladia Causil-Rodriguez is the CEO and Founder of Eladia’s Kids schools where a unique, innovative model of early childhood education is offered to children from nursery through preschool. Originally from Colombia, South America, Eladia moved to and fell in love with Brooklyn. As a young working mother of four, Eladia saw an urgent need for quality childcare in her new community of Park Slope and decided to create an informal playgroup in her home to provide that care. From those humble beginnings, and with her excellent reputation behind her, Eladia opened her first school in December of 2000. She saw the opportunity to meet the needs
of the burgeoning North Faltbush Avenue parent community. After much success, she has continued to open more locations to serve the growing community of parents in Brooklyn.

Because of Brooklyn’s diverse community and the number of families that Eladia has cared for over the years, her philosophy and special quality of childcare is sought after by many families from all over the globe. From France, to Japan, to Australia, parents will plan their move and living arrangements around placement at one of Eladia’s well known and sought after locations.

Now a family-run company, Eladia’s Kids operates 6 boutique schools serving over 100 families each year. Eladia has been able to weather the pandemic over the last year because of her tireless dedication to the children, families and staff that she serves and works with every day.

Eladia is an active Board Member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, is a proud member of the North Flatbush Avenue BID, sits on Community Board 6, received a Proclamation from former Brooklyn Borough President Markowitz for her entrepreneurship, has been featured in Crain’s New York Magazine, was invited to the Small Business Mentorship program at the
Clinton Foundation, was acknowledged by the US Small Business Administration under President Obama, and received the 2018 Brooklyn’s Women of Distinction Award. Eladia’s Kids was most recently awarded the 2019 Outstanding Small Business Award at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Winter Gala.

What remains at the heart of Eladia’s schools and what she attributes her success to is her core commitment – to provide an excellent environment that supports the education and development of a fully self-expressed child. Her guiding thought has always been- “Every child is a book. Each chapter is fascinating – filled with mystery and surprise. We are here just to help them turn the pages.”
