Manhattan Bridge Cable Rehabilitation – Brooklyn Queens Expressway Lane Closures

SEPTEMBER 21 – OCTOBER 22, 2010

Beginning Tuesday, September 21, DOT will close one or more lanes on the BQE in each direction, during night time hours in the vicinity of the Manhattan Bridge. The closures are necessary to facilitate repairs to the New York City Transit subway facilities on the Manhattan Bridge.

The closures will occur only between 12:01 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.  Tuesday through Friday and 12:01a.m. through 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.  One travel lane in each direction will be maintained at all times, bicycle and pedestrian access to the Manhattan Bridge will not be affected.  The anticipated completion date for this work is Friday, October 22, 2010.
