Greenest Block in Brooklyn Contest – a Friendly Competition for Residential and Commercial Blocks in Brooklyn

For the 15th year, BBG has sponsored the Greenest Block in Brooklyn Contest in cooperation with Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz. The program offers an opportunity for block and merchant associations to participate in making Brooklyn beautiful while building community relations as neighbors work together.

This year, the North Flatbush Avenue Avenue BID entered our district, block by block, north and south sides of the streets, into the contest for 2009.

We are happy to announce that our merchant Burrito Bar and Kitchen won 2nd Place Prize for GREENEST STOREFRONT for the 2nd Year in a Row.  We are proud of all our merchants who tried very hard this year to win, some entering for the first time. Congratulations to Greg Yerman and his restaurant for making our neighborhood the greenest storefront on the avenue.
