NEW MUNI-METERS INSTALLED ALONG FLATBUSH AVENUE
The newly installed Muni-Meters installed along our district, are for citywide on-street parking spots. The lollipop designed meters will be removed soon. The new meters accepts coins (quarters, dollar coins) and NYC Parking Cards. Credit cards are accepted at some Muni-Meters.
Free Sundays-Parking meters and Muni-Meters do not have to paid on Sundays. This legislation went into effect on Sunday, November 13, 2005.
For Pay and Display meters, customers purchase time, take a receipt, and then displa it on the cars dashboards.
Motorcyles – Like other motorists, motorcyclists using Pay and Display Muni-Meters, must display their receipt on their vehicle. To prevent theft or damage to the receipt, DOT recommends using clear plastic holders attached to the motorcylce with a lock or other mechanism. Devices made esspecially for this purpose can be found in speciality stores.
